As a Clinical Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of clinical research projects from study start-up through close-out. Acting as the primary point of contact for Sponsors and Clients, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure project milestones are achieved, manage risks effectively, and maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance, and operational excellence.
This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in Clinical Research, Clinical Operations, Clinical Trials, and ICH-GCP compliance, combined with proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary point of contact for Sponsors and Clients, ensuring effective communication, alignment on study objectives, and timely delivery of agreed milestones and project deliverables.
Lead the planning, execution and oversight of clinical research projects, defining study timelines, project stages, risk assessments and contingency plans in collaboration with Sponsors.
Coordinate and support cross-functional teams, including Clinical Operations, Medical Writing, IT, Statistics & Data Management, and Pharmacovigilance & Safety, ensuring efficient resource allocation and achievement of project goals.
Oversee study start-up, regulatory activities and operational execution throughout the full clinical trial lifecycle, including participation in Sponsor meetings, review of key study documents and site contract support when applicable.
Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including obtaining and evaluating quotations required for project delivery.
Ensure compliance with Sponsor requirements, company procedures, applicable regulations and ICH-GCP standards, while maintaining high-quality study execution.
Monitor patient recruitment, identify operational challenges and implement effective mitigation strategies to support study objectives.
Lead and supervise the clinical monitoring team, overseeing performance, workload distribution, quality standards and ongoing team development.
Support critical study milestones, including database lock activities, study close-out, final reporting, TMF transfer and budget oversight.

Essential Requirements

Degree in Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Biology or a related discipline.
Master's degree in Clinical Research or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of 4 years' experience in Clinical Research and/or additional experience within clinical development.
Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, clinical trial regulations and applicable industry requirements.
Fluent English and German. Knowledge of other languages will be valued.
Ability to meet country-specific regulatory requirements related to the role.
Proven experience coordinating projects and working with multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent leadership, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
Strong ability to prioritise workloads, manage resources efficiently and drive projects to completion.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with Sponsors, Clients and internal teams.
Proactive, solution-oriented and highly organised approach to work.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional experience in broader clinical development activities.
Previous experience leading cross-functional clinical research teams.
Experience working directly with Sponsors and managing client relations
